About The Position

As a member of a 24-hour patient access service, the System Flow Coordinator is responsible for patient flow to facilitate appropriate access to safe patient care. This includes coordination and accountability for decision-making with respect to consultation, placement, and movement of patients within and outside of tertiary acute care. The System Flow Coordinator will function as an integral member of an acute care team whose collective responsibility will include access to and movement through resources across the continuum, and to other health facilities. The System Flow Coordinator provides access to consultation with physicians, patients, families, nurses, and support staff. During off-hours, the System Flow Coordinator will function as a management representative with respect to problem-solving and communication.

Requirements

• 5 years recent experience in a medical, surgical, critical care or ER department.
• Intermediate computer skills with experience in Excel and Word.
• Registered Nurse (RN).
• Registered/eligible to be registered with RPNAS (Reg Psych Nurses Assoc of Sask).
• Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).
• Basic Life Support Level C Certificate (BLS-C).
• Valid Class 5 driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Previous coordinator or management experience is preferred.
• Nursing diploma is acceptable.

Responsibilities
