About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Maternal & Children’s Clinical Integration, the Pediatric Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of Maternal and Children’s Provincial Programs’ education, quality improvement, clinical benchmarks, safety, and service delivery initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in an adult educator role
  • Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in pediatric nursing
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in coordination, implementation and evaluation
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in program, education and resource development
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing, Master level preferred.
  • A baccalaureate degree is required, preferably in nursing.
  • Eligibility to pursue or current instructor certification is required
  • Current registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA).
  • Computer skills and working knowledge of current software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office)
  • Possesses in-depth clinical knowledge and skill set to support the development, delivery (including transfer of knowledge) and evaluation of evidence informed, best practice pediatric educational programs.
  • In-depth clinical knowledge and skill set to support the development of maternal/child policies, procedures, clinical practice guidelines, standards of care, benchmarks, and service delivery framework modules.
  • Knowledge of adult education and learning principles, and ability to integrate into programs and strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess learning needs of clinicians.
  • Ability to conduct needs assessments.
  • Ability to coach and guide improvement initiatives related to achieving benchmarks
  • Knowledge of quality and safety initiatives, including accreditation processes.
  • Knowledge of professional regulatory body requirements in developing policies and procedures to support specialty practice, additional competencies, etc.
  • Ability to conduct information searches, environmental analysis and literature reviews, interpreting clinical outcomes and providing recommendations on best practice evidence for implementation.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, consultative manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
  • Ability to support the development of standard work, clinical guidelines and educational modules.
  • Ability to prioritize, interpret and respond to issues in a timely and appropriate manner.

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to operate related equipment, including audiovisual, clinical and simulation equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including considerable travel.
  • Ability to integrate knowledge of adult education into programs and strategies.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)

Nice To Haves

  • Master level preferred.
  • Preference will be given to a Master level of Nursing, Education or Health Administration.
  • Advanced pediatric training and/or certification (e.g. CNA Pediatric or Neonatal Nurse Certification, emergency nursing pediatric course)
  • Advanced pediatric training/cert and instructor trainer cert preferred

Responsibilities

Benefits

  • Pay Band Nurse B $42.040 to $52.440
