About The Position

Performs basic patient care activities according to the age-appropriate and developmental needs of patients. This position is scheduled for three shifts per week, including holidays and every other weekend. All listed responsibilities are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act; related duties not listed are not considered essential functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Scheduled to work three shifts per week, including holidays and every other weekend.

Nice To Haves

• Successful completion of a Nurse Assistant Program.
• Prior relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, bathing, feeding, and ambulation.
• Observes patients and reports changes in condition to the Registered Nurse; answers patient call lights and responds appropriately.
• Transports patients to and from units as directed by the Registered Nurse and in accordance with established transfer techniques.
• Straightens patient rooms, changes linens, and performs related tasks.
• Replenishes and orders supplies needed for basic patient care.
• Assists with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Complies with safety policies and procedures to provide a safe environment for employees, patients, and visitors.
• Contributes to cost-effective patient care by monitoring the use of time, equipment, and supplies.
• Performs related duties as required.
