Nurse Assistant - 5th Floor Med Surg
About The Position
The Nurse Assistant supports patient safety, comfort, and well-being at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), the role involves performing specific patient care duties, providing input to assist with care planning and implementation, and responding to emergent situations according to established procedures. The Nurse Assistant also participates in continuing education and upholds Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions. This is a part-time night position on the 5th Floor Med Surg, scheduled for 24 hours per week from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (such as Patient Care Technician or Patient Assistant Technician), or current enrollment in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing, or foreign training and licensure as an RN without a Michigan RN license, or completion of a Medical Assistant program with or without experience, or at least one year of previous experience in a similar role.
- Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
Nice To Haves
- CNA certification preferred.
