About The Position

The Nurse Assistant supports patient safety, comfort, and well-being by performing specific patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN). The role provides input to the RN for planning and implementing patient care and responds to emergent situations according to established procedures. The Nurse Assistant participates in continuing education and upholds Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions. This is a full-time, day-shift position at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, working 36 hours per week from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The hospital serves the Downriver community and offers a work environment combining local community connection with the resources of a large health system.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Completion of a Nurse Assistant program, such as Patient Care Technician or Patient Assistant Technician; OR current enrollment in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing; OR foreign training and licensure as an RN without a Michigan RN license; OR completion of a Medical Assistant program, with or without experience; OR at least one year of previous experience in a similar role.
Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.

Nice To Haves

CNA certification preferred.
