About The Position
The Nurse Assistant provides patient care according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The role includes safely transporting patients by wheelchair or stretcher, providing dispatch services, and documenting services. The Nurse Assistant also serves as an observer for patients who require constant observation, either in person or through remote video monitoring, to support patient safety. General receptionist and clerical duties help facilitate the efficient operation of the nursing unit, and care provided is documented in the electronic medical record. The position is on the 37-bed 4 North medical-surgical unit, which focuses on stroke and neurology patients and cares for a wide range of complex disease processes. The unit emphasizes learning, professional communication, and teamwork.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification is required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience.
- Current CNA certification.
Responsibilities
