About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, the Nurse Assistant contributes to patient-centered care by performing selected day-to-day patient care activities and maintaining an environment that supports patient well-being. The role demonstrates unit- or area-designated competencies and interacts with patients while considering their developmental, age-specific, cultural, and spiritual preferences.

Requirements

High school graduation or equivalent is required.
BLS certification as a Healthcare Provider or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN) is required.
At least six months of prior nursing assistant experience is required if the specialized education requirements listed in the posting have not been met.

Nice To Haves

Direct patient care experience is preferred.
For applicants who do not meet the minimum six-month nursing assistant experience requirement, specialized education includes an acute-care nursing assistant course (preferred for acute-care positions), a long-term-care nursing assistant course, completion of an emergency medical technician program, completion of a medical assistant program, or a clinical rotation while participating in an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN to help identify and attain treatment goals.
Provides compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
Provides physical support with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
Ensures compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by following infection-control, hazardous-waste, and other policies and protocols.
Performs other related job duties as requested.
