About The Position

The Nurse Assistant 6NW position at Corewell Health is part of the 35-bed 6 North West IMU-Acuity Adaptable unit, which provides a patient-family centered approach to Medical and Progressive Level of Care. Patients remain on this unit throughout their care progression. The role emphasizes Team-Based Care, involving the patient and family in developing shared goals. This multidisciplinary collaboration aims to provide quality patient care. The position is located at Royal Oak Hospital, recognized as a top hospital in Michigan and the country, with Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma designations, Magnet designation, and Michigan's first Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
• Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety.
• Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
• Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.
