Nurse Assistant PRN Float Pool
About The Position
The Nurse Assistant PRN Float Pool role provides patient care at Grosse Pointe Hospital according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The position also supports safe patient transport, observation services, and the efficient operation of the nursing unit. Care and services provided are documented in the electronic medical record. Grosse Pointe Hospital is a Magnet-designated facility recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best hospitals in the nation. It provides advanced nursing and care services and is home to the James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center and the Cotton Family Birth Center. This is a part-time position with variable shifts, variable workdays, and variable weekend frequency. The scheduled weekly hours are 0.04.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
- Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
- Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
- Current CNA certification preferred.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Transport patients safely by wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch transport services, and document services appropriately.
- Provide in-person or remote-video observation for patients assessed as requiring constant observation to maximize their safety.
- Perform receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
- Document care provided in the electronic medical record.
