About The Position

This position is for a Nurse Assistant or NA Trainee in the 300 Med Surg Pulmonary unit, working a day shift of 24 hours per week. The role involves providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff, including taking vital signs, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens. The assistant will also report any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff. For qualified candidates, there is a sign-on bonus of up to $2,000, up to 20 hours of front-loaded Paid Time Off, and a relocation bonus of up to $3,000. The position is part of a career ladder up to $1. The Nurse Assistant Training Program functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel. While in the clinical learning environment, the trainee will provide basic patient care under the direction and supervision of a clinical educator and nursing staff. Duties may include taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, and changing linens within their scope of practice. The trainee will also obtain information on patient condition and report any changes. A competency assessment will be administered at the end of the training.

Requirements

  • BLS must be obtained within 90 days
  • 3 months experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years OR Completed an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibits valuable time management skills
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Is available for work on a consistent and timely basis
  • Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Prior patient care or health care related experience
