About The Position

This position is for a Nurse Assistant or NA Trainee in the 300 Med-Surg Pulmonary unit, working a Day Shift. The role involves providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. Duties include taking vital signs, assisting with bathing, dressing, and moving patients, changing linens, and reporting changes in patient condition. The Nurse Assistant Training Program offers a classroom and clinical learning environment to train as unlicensed assistive personnel. Upon completion of training, a competency assessment will be administered. For qualified candidates, there is a sign-on bonus, front-loaded Paid Time Off, and a relocation bonus. The position is part of a Career Ladder up to $1.

Requirements

BLS must be obtained within 90 days
For Nurse Assistant I: 3 months experience as a nursing assistant in an inpatient or long-term care setting, EMT, or Surgical Technologist in the past 3 years OR Completed an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Program within the past 3 years
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exhibits valuable time management skills
Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
Is available for work on a consistent and timely basis
Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks

Nice To Haves

Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred: Prior patient care or health care related experience

Responsibilities

Provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff.
Perform duties such as take vitals, bathe, dress, move patients, change linens and other duties as assigned.
Obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff, and reports any changes in patient condition.
Functions within a classroom and clinical learning environment to obtain training as unlicensed assistive personnel.
While in the clinical learning environment, will provide basic patient care under direction and supervision of clinical educator and nursing staff.
During clinical rotation, may perform duties such as taking vitals, bathing, dressing, moving patients, changing linens and other duties within their scope of practice as directed.
While in clinical setting, obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff or clinical educator and reports any changes in patient condition.
