Nurse Assistant Intensive Care Cardiac PRN
About The Position
The 6CCT cardiac intensive care unit is a 12-bed unit. Patient population includes patients recovering from cardiac arrest, STEMI, cardiogenic shock, pulmonary arterial hypertension, acute myocardial infarctions, acute kidney injury, bradycardia/heart block, pulmonary Edema, NSTEMI, DKA, and ARDS. This role provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services, and appropriate documentation. The role also involves acting as an Observer for patients requiring constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize their safety. Additionally, the position performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit and documents care provided in the electronic medical record. This position requires a full week of corporate orientation, Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm, which must be attended consecutively.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
- Current CNA certification preferred
Responsibilities
