About The Position

The Helper Bees partners with insurance carriers and health plans to support older adults in remaining independent, healthy, and at home. This is a per-diem, 1099 independent contractor opportunity for supplemental income. Nurse Assessors conduct face-to-face assessments in claimants’ homes, within a 35-mile radius, and are paid $125 for each completed assessment.

The Nurse Assessor completes in-depth cognitive and functional assessments using structured processes, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, objective observation, and reporting of the individual’s current status. The assessor coordinates scheduling with the client or their point of contact, submits each assessment through an online application within 24 hours, and responds to clarification requests from the review team by telephone within 48 hours. An assessment is complete only after all clarifications have been answered.

Applicants must complete the initial application and additional steps to verify their nursing license and provide scheduling information. The scheduling team will contact applicants when work is available in their area. Applicants should use the hiring portal for communication with the THB People Department.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• At least 5 years of experience as an RN.
• Familiarity with a broad range of medications and conditions common in the geriatric population.
• Reliable internet access for submitting assessments.
• Portable computer with Windows or a tablet with a camera.
• Current proficiency with computers and ability to learn technology quickly.
• Friendly, compassionate, dedicated, and patient personality.
• Prompt and thoughtful communication.
• Previous quality assurance or chart audit/review experience.

Responsibilities
