About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is hiring a Nurse Apprentice to work in the ICU at its Level II Trauma Center. The ICU is a 21-bed unit serving a mixed patient population requiring critical care, including patients receiving neuro, medical, surgical, and trauma care. This is a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The schedule is two 12-hour shifts per week, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The role requires flexibility to work weeknights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Under the direction and supervision of an RN, the Nurse Apprentice performs patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary to meet patients’ personal needs and comfort. Requirements

Maintain a current Nurse Apprentice application on file with the Idaho State Board of Nursing, or complete the Trinity Nursing Assistant Program.
Hold Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from the AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills to competently care for assigned age groups, as applicable.
Be flexible to work a varied schedule that includes weeknights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform patient care activities and related non-professional services to meet patients’ personal needs and comfort under the direction and supervision of an RN.
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to care competently for assigned age groups: neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric, as applicable.
