Nurse Aide Trainee
About The Position
Looking for a meaningful career in healthcare but not sure where to start? As a Paid Nurse Aide Trainee at Brothers of Mercy, you’ll earn money while receiving hands-on training, gaining valuable experience, and discovering if nursing is the right path for you. Upon completion of our training program, you’ll be eligible to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) — with your certification costs fully covered by us! The training program is a 3-week program (Monday–Friday, 7:00a–3:00p, times may vary). The first 2 weeks are classroom training, and the 3rd week is the clinical portion. PPDs, physicals, and onboarding requirements are covered for eligible candidates. Once certified, you’ll be promoted from Nurse Aide Trainee to CNA with a pay increase.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- No prior healthcare experience required — training provided!
- Compassion, dependability, and a strong interest in helping others
- Ability to work every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) once certified
Responsibilities
- Promote resident hygiene and comfort
- Assist with feeding, ambulation, repositioning, and transfers
- Collect and record specimens, fluid intake, and output
- Empty drainage containers and weigh residents as directed
- Apply elastic stockings and support overall resident care needs
