About The Position

The Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center (EKVC) is a 120-bed long-term care facility providing skilled nursing and rehabilitative care exclusively to Kentucky’s Veterans. Proudly operated by the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs, EKVC was built with a single purpose — to honor and care for those who have served our nation.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Aide State Registered I to join our team. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day in the lives of our Veteran residents.

Requirements

• Must possess current registration with the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry as administered by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and Kentucky Board of Nursing.
• Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.

Responsibilities

• Provide total personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Assist residents with meals and proper hydration, including restorative dining
• Escort residents to medical appointments and activities
• Record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure
• Assist with lifting, repositioning, and transporting residents using assistive equipment
• Maintain clean and safe living environments and follow infection control protocols
• Observe and report any changes in resident condition to nursing staff
• Perform additional care tasks as directed
