About The Position

Robert E. Spiller Bowling Green Veterans Center is a skilled nursing Facility that cares for the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Veterans. Our mission is to serve Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic Nurse Aide who possesses the desire to care for Kentucky’s Veterans. We have 2nd and 3rd shifts available.

Requirements

Have an active status as a nurse aide on the KBN Nurse Aide Registry.
Strong interpersonal skills
Must possess current registration with the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry as administered by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and Kentucky Board of Nursing.
Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with personnel hygiene such as bathing, dental and oral care, and hair and nail care.
Assist residents with bowel and bladder functions by escorting them to the bathroom, providing bedpan or portable commodes. Checks and records intake and output flow charts.
Assist with meals and nourishments for residents requiring assistance and restorative dining.
Perform total physical care to include assisting with meals, as well as helping to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of our Veterans.
Measure and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respirations, height, as instructed.
Collect and label specimens for laboratory analysis.
