About The Position

Hoosier Village is a senior living community in Indianapolis, Indiana, offering continuing care and services for older adults. The Nurse Aide in Training supports residents’ needs and quality of life while training to become a CNA. During clinicals, trainees are paired with a CNA mentor, and the employer assists with test preparation. Care is provided under the direction of nursing and medical staff. Shifts are 12 hours, with coverage required every other weekend. There are no on-call requirements.

Responsibilities

Answer signal lights to determine residents' needs.
Help residents bathe, dress, and undress.
Turn and reposition bedfast residents.
Take and record residents’ temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
Serve and collect food trays and feed residents who require assistance.
Transport residents by wheelchair or assist them with walking.
Clean, sterilize, store, prepare, and issue dressing packs, treatment trays, and other supplies.
Run errands, direct visitors, and answer the telephone as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
