About The Position

Bethany Village is hiring a Nurse Aide in Training to help enhance residents’ quality of life through one-on-one interaction while training to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. The role includes paid CNA classes, on-site training, and hands-on experience working with CNAs and nursing staff in a supportive team environment. The position provides care and assistance to geriatric residents and requires an evening shift from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. and work every other weekend. The listed pay is $16 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to read, speak, and write English.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers, residents, and residents’ families.
• Dependability, punctuality, tact, patience, and a pleasant, professional demeanor.
• A genuine interest in the geriatric field and a resident-focused approach.

Nice To Haves

• High school education or GED preferred.
• Previous long-term care experience is helpful.
• Prior experience working with residents with dementia is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care.
• Assist in the dining room, feed residents, and pass meal trays.
• Assist with daily one-on-one or small-group resident activities.
• Provide residents with water and needed supplies, such as briefs, underpants, wipes, soap, and denture cups.
• Transport residents to and from medical appointments.
• Answer call lights and assist residents as needed.
• Take approved residents outside to smoke.
• Transport residents to and from the dining room and activities each day.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information.
• Comply with Bethany Village’s vision, objectives, procedures, and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
