About The Position

Under the supervision of The Medical Director, GI Lab, and the Program Team Manager, Subspecialty Medicine, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Gastroenterology Nurse is responsible for providing quality nursing care for patients with Gastroenterology disturbances; and performing other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Three (3) to five (5) years related clinical experience, preferably in Gastroenterology.
  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Post-basic course in advanced assessment and nursing skills preferred.
  • Current CRNM registration required.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Applicants will be assessed against the following selection criteria, as applicable to the position: experience, education, patient care and clinical knowledge/skills, leadership skills, communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, quality improvement, teaching skills, research knowledge, professional development and seniority.
  • Current reference(s) may be required upon request.
  • Applicants are required to submit a letter of application including a current resume.
  • A current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
  • A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
