Requirements

  • Three years of professional experience in nuclear systems safety analysis involving Boiling Water Reactors or Pressurized Water Reactors
  • A bachelor’s degree in nuclear, mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, structural or environmental engineering, or in engineering technology
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Must possess and maintain a REAL ID or passport
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions
  • Submission of criminal history reports
  • Pass a background investigation
  • Medical examination and drug screening

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent reviews of nuclear power plant operations and compliance
  • Review federal and industry reports to assess safety and environmental impacts
  • Participate in emergency drills to assess plant conditions during events
  • Support efforts to inform the public about nuclear safety and preparedness
  • Inspect low-level radioactive waste packaging and transportation activities
  • Prepare written documentation on facility safety and system performance
