Requirements
- Three years of professional experience in nuclear systems safety analysis involving Boiling Water Reactors or Pressurized Water Reactors
- A bachelor’s degree in nuclear, mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, structural or environmental engineering, or in engineering technology
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Must possess and maintain a REAL ID or passport
- Must meet the PA residency requirement
- Must be able to perform essential job functions
- Submission of criminal history reports
- Pass a background investigation
- Medical examination and drug screening
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent reviews of nuclear power plant operations and compliance
- Review federal and industry reports to assess safety and environmental impacts
- Participate in emergency drills to assess plant conditions during events
- Support efforts to inform the public about nuclear safety and preparedness
- Inspect low-level radioactive waste packaging and transportation activities
- Prepare written documentation on facility safety and system performance
