About The Position

Dominion Energy is seeking a Nuclear Construction Specialist or Senior Nuclear Construction Specialist for its North Anna location. This role is responsible for providing technical support, reviewing design change packages, performing field walkdowns and constructability reviews, and supporting project planning and scheduling. The specialist will ensure work is performed in accordance with station procedures and specifications, coordinate construction activities, and verify field compliance with safety and scheduling requirements. They will also ensure equipment and materials are available, provide budget input, coordinate testing of completed systems, and interface with various departments to resolve issues. The role may involve supervising Non-Dominion Energy Workers (NDEWs).

Requirements

  • Nuclear Construction Specialist: 3+ years of relevant experience in a directly related field, plus a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. (Also acceptable: 5+ years relevant experience in a directly related field, plus a related Associate degree, or 7+ years relevant experience with High School Diploma or GED).
  • Senior Nuclear Construction Specialist: 5+ years of relevant experience in a directly related field, plus a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. (Also acceptable: 7+ years relevant experience in a directly related field, plus a related Associate degree, or 9+ years relevant experience with High School Diploma or GED).
  • Relevant experience may include construction/projects experience, hands-on project management experience in a particular craft (civil, electrical, mechanical, welding, etc.), or documented experience in the planning and/or implementation of construction projects; could also include experience in design engineering, drafting, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or civil design, procedures and codes.
  • Familiarity with processes and procedures required to implement physical modifications to the facility.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Computer proficiency including Maximo, SAP, DocTop, Microsoft Office Suite, Plant Asset Management System (PAMS).

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support by reviewing design change packages prior to implementation.
  • Perform field walkdowns and constructability reviews prior to the start of work to identify potential problems.
  • Provide support to mechanical, electrical, or civil supervision in planning, scheduling, and man-loading of assigned projects.
  • Verify work is being performed in accordance with station procedures and specifications.
  • Coordinate construction activities between craft personnel and company personnel.
  • Verify work in the field for compliance with station procedures, safety, close-outs, and completion of job as scheduled.
  • Coordinate work with craft personnel.
  • Ensure all equipment and materials are available for work scope.
  • Provide budget input (manpower, duration, materials) for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate testing of completed systems.
  • Interface with stakeholder departments (Engineering, Operations, Health Physics, Security, etc.) to solve problems.
  • Potentially supervise Non-Dominion Energy Workers (NDEWs).
