About The Position

The KNES Quality Assurance Specialist will assist in the execution of quality-related project requirements at KNES manufacturing sites, remote sites, and vendor activities. This role involves reviewing and organizing records upon receipt, verifying compliance, and preventing nonconforming material from being introduced into the value stream. The specialist will also support ISO, NQA-1, and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B components and projects, and assist in the surveillance of commercial suppliers working on nuclear business unit components and services.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-directed and the ability to interact with supervisors, engineers, and customers effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Strong teamwork and networking skills.
  • High School Diploma, equivalent or higher – dependent on commensurate experience.
  • Ability to travel 10% Intrastate (Dependent on location), 5%+ Interstate (overnight) 30% Travel required.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years quality assurance or control experience preferred.
  • Proficiency using SAP is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Quality Assurance and Control processes in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review vendor certificates of analysis and conformance to ensure they meet the requirements of KNES drawings and purchase orders.
  • Read, understand, and apply the contents of the KNES Quality System for ISO 9001 and 10CFR50 Appendix B / NQA-1:2008.
  • Perform final inspection of vendor and internal records before assigning them to the library.
  • Communicate discrepancies to the responsible internal or external parties.
  • Assist team members in preparing and entering Non-conformance Reports.
  • Responsible for following safety and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Ensure potential hazards are identified and corrected in a timely manner.
  • Manage the quality requirements of projects, taking ownership of deliverables and being the point-of-contact.
  • Conduct or participate in vendor audits or surveys.
  • Supports all ISO, NQA-1 and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B components and projects as required by the base load of the other quality department personnel.
  • Assist in the surveillance of commercial suppliers performing work on nuclear business unit components and services as directed by quality management.
  • Performs additional quality related tasks as may be assigned by the KNES Global Director Nuclear Quality.
