The KNES Quality Assurance Specialist will assist in the execution of quality-related project requirements at KNES manufacturing sites, remote sites, and vendor activities. This role involves reviewing and organizing records upon receipt, verifying compliance, and preventing nonconforming material from being introduced into the value stream. The daily work includes reviewing vendor certificates of analysis and conformance to ensure they meet the requirements of KNES drawings and purchase orders. The specialist will read, understand, and apply the contents of the KNES Quality System for ISO 9001 and 10CFR50 Appendix B / NQA-1:2008. This position requires a team-oriented, solutions-driven, customer-focused, and self-starting individual with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include performing final inspections of vendor and internal records before assigning them to the library, communicating discrepancies to responsible parties, assisting team members in preparing and entering Non-conformance Reports, and following safety and environmental rules and regulations. The role also involves ensuring potential hazards are identified and corrected promptly, managing the quality requirements of projects, taking ownership of deliverables, and serving as a point-of-contact. Additionally, the specialist will conduct or participate in vendor audits or surveys, support all ISO, NQA-1, and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B components and projects as required by other quality department personnel, and assist in the surveillance of commercial suppliers performing work on nuclear business unit components and services as directed by quality management. The role may also involve performing additional quality-related tasks assigned by the KNES Global Director Nuclear Quality.
