About The Position

Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel. Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Develops in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. May evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs. May be responsible for development of e-learning programs.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master?s Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
NNS Apprentice School graduate
Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice To Haves

Extensive experience in Nuclear and Radiological field; preferably in training field
Familiarity with training scheduling processes and resource coordination
Ability to manage multiple complex, high-priority assignments with minimal direction needed
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and drive actions to completion
Ability to identify process improvements and implement changes that improve efficiency, consistency, or training effectiveness
Ability to remain calm, organized, and effective in a fast-paced environment with competing demands
Strong knowledge of the requirements of NAVSEA 0989-062-4000 “Naval Nuclear Quality Control Manual” and NAVSEA 389-0288 “Radiological Controls for Shipyards”
Previously or currently qualified to NAVSEA 0989-062-4000 and NAVSEA 389-0288
Knowledge and understanding of ship’s nuclear systems
Experience working cleanliness grades of RPCMP A-29
Knowledge and experience with nuclear pipefitting or testing
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, etc.)
Knowledge and experience with Nuclear System Cleanliness and Controlled Material requirements
Knowledge and experience with Steam Plant systems (M1019)
Knowledge and experience with Mixed Waste and/or GDOT
