About The Position

A healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role involves working with advanced imaging technology, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a hospital setting
Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, safety standards, and imaging systems
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Excellent communication and patient care skills
High School Diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
Valid state license (NJDEP or equivalent)
ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) or NMTCB certification required
BLS certification (American Heart Association) required

Responsibilities

Operate nuclear medicine equipment and perform diagnostic imaging procedures
Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with safety protocols
Perform radionuclide imaging, organ function studies, and assist with therapeutic procedures
Ensure proper patient identification and image quality using PACS systems
Provide radiation protection for patients, self, and staff
Prepare radioactive tracer compounds and calibrate equipment
Receive, inspect, and manage radiopharmaceutical materials per regulatory guidelines
Maintain accurate records of radioactive material usage, storage, and disposal
Ensure cleanliness and contamination-free work environment
Rotate through assignments such as Cardiology and PET/CT as needed
Perform clerical duties including scheduling, documentation, and system updates (e.g., EMR systems)
Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers, adapting to individual needs
Adhere to organizational policies, safety standards, and professional conduct guidelines
