This PRN (as-needed) position involves 8-hour shifts with varying start times between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM. Under the direction of the department supervisor, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist will manage the daily patient flow and coordinate exam assignments. The role requires performing nuclear medicine procedures at a technical level with minimal supervision, utilizing independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation and other forms of energy. Responsibilities include maintaining records and charting, collecting patient histories, communicating with radiologists and other staff, adhering to department protocols to produce quality images, ensuring patient immobilization and safety, and continuously monitoring patients during exams. The technologist will also assist radiologists with exams, including invasive procedures, and effectively use the EPIC system. A key part of the role is assisting physicians in Nuclear and PET examinations through the preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals under the radiologist's direction.
