The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for preparing, administering, and documenting diagnostic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under the supervision of an Authorized User. This role adheres to department radiation safety practices, obtains necessary medications and patient history, and prepares patients for procedures. The technologist will explain procedures to patients and their families, perform measurements to provide diagnostic information, and maintain ongoing self-study to stay current with new techniques and radiopharmaceuticals.
