The Nuclear Medicine Tech administers radiopharmaceuticals under physician guidance, obtains and processes diagnostic images following regulatory guidelines, and provides direct patient care. This role involves monitoring patients, preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, and maintaining nuclear medicine equipment. The position requires knowledge of nuclear medicine operations, including regulations from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), state, and other accreditation agencies. The technician will perform quality controls, assist the Radiation Safety Officer with radiation safety initiatives, and report equipment malfunctions. Responsibilities also include documenting procedures, processing paperwork, maintaining examination rooms, stocking supplies, and answering phones. Experience with electronic medical records (Athena) is necessary. Regular and punctual attendance in person is required.
