About The Position

This role is for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. The position is PRN with a rotating schedule. The technologist will be responsible for accurately positioning patients, selecting parameters, and implementing radiation safety. They will also prepare for, perform, and assist physicians with special procedures, and prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the scope of practice. Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, including prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS with correct markers and patient data, is crucial. The role also involves helping to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly department environment.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Indiana Medical Radiology Services Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Nuclear Medicine credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Nuclear Medicine credentialed from the Indiana State Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately position patients, select parameters, and implement radiation safety.
  • Prepare for, perform, and assist physicians with special procedures.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the scope of practice.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS (with correct markers and patient data).
