About The Position

This position provides PRN nuclear cardiology imaging coverage across multiple VHVI locations. The role requires the ability to work independently at satellite offices and collaboratively with a team at the main campus location. The position provides daytime PRN coverage only, with no evening, weekend, or holiday coverage required. Responsibilities

  • Perform nuclear cardiology examinations, including myocardial perfusion imaging (with and without myocardial blood flow reserve), RVG/MUGA studies, and cardiac amyloid imaging, with responsibility for image processing, analysis, and report preparation in accordance with established protocols.
  • Review cardiology exam requests, patient history, and patient identification to ensure safe, appropriate, and effective imaging.
  • Apply a broad range of nuclear cardiology skills to ensure examinations are completed efficiently while meeting quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Perform IV placement and provide clinical support during cardiac imaging procedures in coordination with nursing staff.
  • Provide appropriate nuclear medicine screening and radiation safety practices for patients, staff, and self according to prescribed standards.
  • Perform daily nuclear medicine quality control activities, including radiopharmaceutical package receipt and survey, dose calibrator quality control, and required radiation area surveys and wipe tests in accordance with departmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently at satellite office locations and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team at the main campus location.
  • Accurately document procedures, imaging data, reports, and quality control activities in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
  • Assist with orientation and training of students and new staff as assigned.
