About The Position

The Molecular Imaging and Nuclear Medicine Staff Technologist is responsible for patient contact, care, and monitoring with an empathetic and instructional approach. This role involves the procurement, preparation, quality control, dispensing, dose calibration, administration, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals, including radiotherapy-pharmaceuticals and adjunct non-radiopharmaceuticals. The technologist also administers pharmaceuticals, such as adjunct oral and IV medications and contrast, under the direction of an authorized user. Additionally, the position requires performing quality control procedures and operating imaging, laboratory, and computer instrumentation. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, on a day shift.

Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor’s of Science in a scientific field with a certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology from an accredited academic program or An Associates Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology from an accredited academic program plus 2 years of experience by date of hire
• Must be certified upon hire (or within first year of hire) and remain current in Nuclear Medicine (NMTCB or ARRT (NM))
• Must be certified upon hire (or within first year of hire) and remain current in at least one of the following advanced certifications and current registries: NMTCB(PET), NMTCB(NCT), ARRT(CT), ARRT(MR)
• Current Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist License
• NIH Human Subjects Protection in Research Certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR
• Knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and medical terminology with the analytical skills to effectively utilize knowledge towards imaging processes, techniques and procedures
• Working knowledge of Nuclear Medicine Information System (NMIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS)
• Ability to rely on experience, judgment and time management skills to plan and accomplish goals
• Must present a positive, team oriented attitude and a professional appearance
• Ability to adhere to safety standards set forth by the Radiology Department, BMC and other regulatory agencies
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients and all/any apprehensions, to instruct students and to interact with other staff technologists
