About The Position

AECOM Markham is hiring a Nuclear Manager. This position is a newly created position. The Engineering Manager is accountable to ensure that all related engineering activities are performed in accordance with approved policies, standards, programs, and procedures consistent with the expectations of the Chief Nuclear Engineer and the requirements of the ACNS Nuclear Quality System Manual. Support the Senior Engineering Manager by providing engineering deliverables, including but not limited to designs, analyses, and other technical deliverables.

Requirements

  • 8-15 years of experience in a design engineering environment.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to influence and interact with all management levels.
  • Demonstrated an ability to manage a technical group of up to 15 people.
  • Demonstrated a good technical understanding of nuclear power plant operation.
  • Demonstrated a good understanding of the Canadian regulatory environment and its requirements pertaining to nuclear power plant operation.
  • Demonstrated an in-depth understanding of the practical application of engineering principles in their discipline and the general application of engineering principles in other disciplines.
  • Specific understanding of the codes and standards in their specific discipline and a general knowledge of codes in other disciplines.
  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or in a relevant engineering field.
  • 8+ years of experience in a design engineering environment of nuclear plants.
  • Be a registered and practicing Professional Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising up to fifteen direct reports (engineers and technicians) engaged in delivering engineered products to the client.
  • Ensuring staff are trained, competent and qualified to perform their tasks.
  • Preparing and providing training to staff.
  • Investigating and resolving of technical issues during all phases of a project.
  • Preparing, reviewing, verifying, approving, or certifying engineering deliverable, as required, including, but not limited to: Technical Specifications, Design Drawings and Bills of Material, Commissioning Specifications, Design Reports including Calculations and Analysis.
  • Maintaining expertise in discipline-specific Codes, Standards and Acts: Electrical – electrical codes in Canada/Ontario or any other province in which design is performed.
  • Leading and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
