About The Position

Our Nuclear Services Group is looking for a Nuclear Licensing Engineer. This role can be based remotely in the US, or in any ENERCON office. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Science, or Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • Typically requires 5+ years of experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Minimum 4 years of regulatory experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Must have excellent knowledge and understanding of regulations, regulatory agencies, and the regulatory processes supporting MCA (Material Control and Accountability) and FNMCP (Fundamental Nuclear Material Control Plan).
  • Ability to represent ENERCON and/or clients at NRC, United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other regulatory agencies’ meetings and workshops.
  • Must have strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competencies in technical writing, facilitation, and decision-making.
  • Ability to work in time constraining regulatory environment while maintaining a quality product.
  • Must be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment.
  • Provide direct project support as an individual contributor or team leader.
  • Technical proficiency in understanding general engineering, design, and the nuclear industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regulatory support to prepare safety analysis reports (SAR) and licensing applications, specifically for sections involving Material Control and Accountability (MCA), Fundamental Nuclear Material Control Plan (FNMCP), and safeguards.
  • Provide regulatory expertise to develop and review documents for submittal and/or presentation to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), other regulatory agencies, or clients, with accountability for accuracy and completeness of these documents.
  • Provide regulatory support to evaluate, track, and drive past and future commitments to closure as appropriate.
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analysis in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs.
  • Provide input to project/program work schedule regarding the duration/scope of regulatory issues and the time/scope/effort involved in resolving them in order to implement project.
  • Provide technical and regulatory support as needed in preparation for or during NRC audits and inspections.
