Dominion Energy•GLEN ALLEN, VA
•$23 - $37•Onsite

About The Position

Dominion Energy is seeking three full-time summer interns for 2027 in its Regulatory Programs engineering group, with the possibility of part-time employment during the semester. Two positions are based at Millstone Power Station in Waterford, Connecticut, and one is based at Dominion’s Innsbrook Technical Center in Glen Allen, Virginia. Interns will work under the mentorship of experienced fleet engineers supporting regulatory compliance across Dominion’s four nuclear power plant sites in Virginia, South Carolina, and Connecticut. The Millstone interns will support fleet fire protection programs. Work includes evaluating existing programs and license conditions to identify efficiencies and optimize long-term maintenance of fire protection programs and equipment; responding to emergent issues, including troubleshooting; and attending site meetings about program and system health, challenges, and proposed changes. This role requires unescorted access to a nuclear power plant for field walkdowns to evaluate fire protection equipment and hazards. Interns will work directly with the fleet fire protection lead stationed at Millstone. The Innsbrook intern will support fleet regulatory program engineers across the fleet and multiple disciplines as needed. Areas may include License Renewal/Aging Management, Fire Protection, In-Service Testing (IST), Maintenance Rule, Equipment Qualification (EQ), Cyber Security, and Beyond Design Basis (BDB). Work may include responding to emergent issues, developing long-term projects, or reviewing plant changes for program impacts.
