About The Position

This position can be hired as either a Nuclear Engineer III or Senior Nuclear Engineer depending on experience. The Nuclear Engineer III is an advancing level where employees solve more complex problems with limited supervision and develop advanced skills to work with greater independence. The Senior Nuclear Engineer is a career/senior level where employees manage work with minimal supervision, develop advanced skills, and work independently. They identify problems, develop solutions, and take actions to resolve them. Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience.
Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience.
The incumbent must meet the minimum ANSI requirements for this position identified within the scope of Nuclear Operating Fleet Administrative Procedure AD-LS-ALL-0011, Confirmation of Regulatory Guide 1.8 Personnel Qualifications.
Nuclear Engineer III: 4-6 years of engineering experience.
Sr Nuclear Engineer: Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer.
Sr Nuclear Engineer: A Professional Engineer.

Responsibilities

Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity.

Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches related to well-defined problems and analysis of increasing scope and complexity.
Conducts engineering and related studies; completes routine engineering projects with minimal oversight with increasing ability to independently manage project schedules and interfaces; increasingly competent to design, operate and maintain systems with moderate impact on existing systems.
Possesses and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures, proficient in technical and analytical competencies.
Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
Maintains accurate records and files.
