About The Position

NextEra Energy is seeking an entry-level engineer to support License Renewal (LR) and Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) activities at Duane Arnold Energy Center (DAEC) as the site prepares for restart and long-term operation. The role supports implementation and maintenance of aging management programs, tracks regulatory commitments, and plans, coordinates, and tracks required inspections, examinations, and program deliverables. The engineer reviews inspection and examination results for aging-related degradation, supports engineering evaluations, and assists with program documentation, corrective actions, NRC audits and inspections, licensing activities, and regulatory requests. The successful candidate collaborates with program owners, system engineers, maintenance, operations, and fleet subject matter experts to help meet program requirements and support safe, reliable plant operation. The role also develops knowledge of the plant licensing basis and applicable regulatory requirements while providing engineering support for site needs. It is an opportunity for an early-career engineering graduate to develop expertise in nuclear engineering, regulatory compliance, equipment reliability, and plant life extension while contributing to DAEC’s restart and future operation. This job supports the project and operational work of senior engineers. Employees perform fundamental engineering tasks using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria; participate in engineering analysis and evaluation; and test solutions to solve problems.
