About The Position

The Lab Tech at Nucor Steel Brandenburg is responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and good housekeeping in the lab, as well as safely operating and maintaining laboratory equipment. The role uses lab equipment and tools including CNC milling and lathe machines, EDM, a CNC plasma table, tensile machines, vertical and horizontal band saws, hydraulic presses, broaches, grinders, precision measuring tools, and hand tools. The candidate must complete forklift and crane certifications and be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. Safety is a priority, and the candidate must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience operating CNC mills, lathes, and plasma tables, or experience with lab testing and procedures.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Three years working in a manufacturing environment.
Two years of an engineering, technical, or machine tool degree.
