About The Position

1X is building humanoid robots for home use, aiming to automate chores and give people more free time. The company is focused on solving complex challenges in robotics, AI, and manufacturing simultaneously to create safe, scalable robots for everyday life. NEO is their flagship home robot, designed for real-world operation alongside people, and the company is currently in the phase of shipping the product. 1X is looking for individuals inspired by this mission to join their scaling team and contribute to changing how humans spend their time by creating abundance safely. The Supply Chain team at 1X is responsible for developing and expanding the global supplier network and operational infrastructure necessary for their humanoid robots. This team collaborates closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations to transition highly complex electromechanical systems from initial concept to mass production. Within the Supply Chain organization, the NPI Project Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth transition of new products from the development phase into manufacturing, directly influencing build readiness, material availability, inventory health, and the company's ability to scale production from prototype to mass market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in material planning, production planning, supply chain operations, or NPI program management.
  • Hands-on experience using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent enterprise planning systems.
  • Experience supporting hardware manufacturing, electronics, robotics, automotive, or other complex manufacturing environments.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities with experience managing data-driven planning decisions.
  • Strong understanding of material planning, inventory management, and production control within complex manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple NPI programs simultaneously while balancing competing priorities and timelines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret supply, demand, inventory, and production data to drive decisions.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • High attention to detail with a structured approach to execution, risk management, and operational problem solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) programs from prototype through production launch.
  • Familiarity with PLM, MES, and engineering change management processes.
  • Experience working with electronics, PCBAs, battery systems, or electromechanical assemblies.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Own material readiness and planning execution for new product introductions across multiple commodity areas including motors, PCBs, structural components, batteries, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Serve as the connective tissue between Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Program Management to ensure materials, systems, and processes are aligned to support successful builds and production ramps.
  • Ensure material readiness for all prototype, validation, and production builds through proactive planning and cross-functional coordination.
  • Maintain inventory health by balancing material availability, excess inventory risk, and changing program requirements.
  • Translate production schedules and engineering demand into actionable procurement and planning requirements.
  • Drive successful NPI launches by establishing clear-to-build processes, BOM readiness, and supply chain risk mitigation plans.
  • Improve planning system accuracy, reporting visibility, and operational execution through continuous process improvement initiatives.
