We’re seeking an experienced Project Engineer professional to join our team and drive the success of key initiatives. In this role, you’ll lead engineering activities aligned with project objectives, gather and analyze critical data, and develop progress reports and plans that keep stakeholders informed. You’ll play a vital role in monitoring timelines, identifying risks, and escalating issues when needed to ensure smooth execution and delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, result-driven environment. This position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of prior experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
  • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

  • Experience with new product introduction
  • Experience performing root cause analysis driving to effective corrective actions
  • Planning skills and ability to execute plans in dynamic and rapidly changing circumstances
  • Knowledge in SAP
  • Finance knowledge and understanding to support Business Case models

Responsibilities

  • Support SMT process engineers with thermal profiling, engineering units' control and storage
  • Lead and participate on required FAI validations across all manufacturing processes by overseeing and approving the process
  • Maintain good communication with other functional areas and proactively escalate any issue or risk
  • Support / lead Solumina tasks such as alterations, order notes or others as required
  • Identify process improvements opportunities, perform RRCA and constantly use CORE tools for daily work
  • Work closely with NPI QE identifying trending issues and providing corrective/preventive actions based on reworks, test yield, customer escapes and QNs data
  • Work with rework and repair instructions as required (NPI unit passing through NCM shall be reviewed by NPI ME)
  • Perform Solumina alterations for all units in WIP
  • Perform time studies as needed to ensure standard times are met through continuous improvement initiatives and mistake proofing
  • Provide support identifying alternate parts and procedures as required (for units in WIP)
  • Add instructions to rework orders as required
