About The Position

Unison, a GE Aerospace company, is the leading provider of differentiated engine controls, accessories, and performance monitoring solutions in the Aerospace, Defense & Space segments. Serving both original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers, Unison designs, manufactures and supplies the most advanced components and systems in the world. The NPD Manufacturing Engineer will support the manufacturing development of NPI (New Product Introduction) and NTI (New Technology Introduction). You will ensure that design for manufacturing (DFM) remains a priority throughout the product development cycle. You will provide feedback and direction to collaborative teams, resolve manufacturing challenges, and deliver documentation, tooling, and training to enable efficient production in a clean and safe manufacturing environment. You will work with relevant functional teams, and ensure safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives are met. This individual will be self-directed and hands-on with capability to manage multiple tasks within a day and prioritize short term needs requiring immediate attention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing and/or engineering).

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve technical issues using data-driven approaches and structured methodologies.
  • Influence design engineering to ensure manufacturability and assembly considerations are integrated throughout the product development process.
  • Conduct hands-on trials and manufacturing of development parts to validate assembly, metallic component, and related processes and technologies.
  • Establish robust process parameters for new technologies and systems, guiding manufacturing applications and feasibility studies.
  • Define equipment lists, spare requirements, training needs, work instructions, and safety documentation for production and maintenance teams.
  • Lead the rollout of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and cascade critical characteristics into internal and supplier quality systems.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment and processes, driving continuous improvement and root cause analysis to meet SQDC targets.
