University of Michigan Health - Sparrow is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated, full-time Nocturnist NP/PA to join the Critical Care team located in Lansing, Michigan. Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program
RN and current MI License required
Certification and licensure as a NP/PA in the State of MI required.
Current BCLS.
Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective plan of care.
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, families, physicians and other hospital associates.
Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.

Nice To Haves

3-5 yrs as a NP/PA acute care hospital experience preferred
MSN degree preferred
Critical Care experience preferred

Responsibilities

Facilitates appropriate admissions to appropriate health system units by initiating orders, coordinating with appropriate attending physician, and moderating medication reconciliation process.
Performs and dictates History & Physical, medical Consultation, Discharge Summary and SOAP notes as per hospitalist service standards.
Assists with development of plan of care.
Reviews diagnostic X-Rays, monitors lab values and other diagnostic studies.
Performs daily rounds as assigned by Hospitalist physicians.
Responds to Rapid Response Team (RRT) calls as assigned.
Communicates with physicians, nursing staff, residents and other members of the medical team to maintain current and accurate updates in patient status.
