The NP/PA will assist physicians in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment. Responsibilities include ordering and performing diagnostic tests, communicating procedure details to patients, and collaborating with physicians on consultations and referrals. The role also includes patient education on health habits, self-examinations, behavior management, follow-up care, home medical care, and medication. The NP/PA will also work with their manager on professional development, attend educational in-services, and participate in professional activities to stay current with trends. Maintaining accurate patient records, collecting and interpreting diagnostic data, and preparing statistical reports are also key duties. Additionally, the role involves training and teaching other healthcare professionals, including students and residents, and actively participating in organizational health services committees.
