This position is full-time, 40 hrs, 4-10s or 5-8s, M-F, Stoneham location. Under the supervision and direction of the Chief of the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and Administrative Nurse Manager, and in accordance with the rules and regulations of Massachusetts governing APP practice, the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will be responsible for the evaluation and management of patients seeking care at the MGH Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, in Stoneham location. The APP is responsible for triaging new and follow-up patients, administering prescribed wound care, educating patients, coordinating the patient’s plan of care and follow-up, verifying test results, and maintaining the clinical environment and supply of special purchase products and topical medications, as needed. The APP will obtain patient histories, perform comprehensive physical examinations to evaluate vascular patients, arrange diagnostic procedures, coordinate consultations, implement treatment plans, communicate with referring physicians, and provide patient and family education. The APP must demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide care based on the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the adult and older adult populations served in this area.
