About The Position

Language Trainers is seeking a freelance Norwegian teacher to provide customized, one-to-one general Norwegian lessons to an elementary-level student in Chicago, United States. The student is 56–64 years old and would like to add Norwegian to their language list. The course consists of 20 total hours, with two-hour sessions once per week. Lessons are planned at the student's home in ZIP code 60614, with a local library or similar location also acceptable. The schedule is flexible on mornings, and the schedule and location may be adjusted based on availability. The preferred start date is September 7, 2026. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. This is a freelance, part-time position; visa sponsorship is not available.

Requirements

• Be a native Norwegian speaker and/or hold a relevant teaching qualification.
• Have experience as a language teacher, translator, or interpreter.
• Have a valid work permit or visa; the company does not sponsor visas.
• Live within 20 miles of the specified location.
