About The Position

The North America Systems Validation Leader is responsible for the overall coordination of all field validation efforts for the Megawatt Constrained product portfolio. This individual is responsible for enabling the prompt risk reduction during product introduction and resolution of emerging issues through field validation. There is a high level of autonomy within the role so there is significant opportunity for strategy development and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Wind turbine technology or industrial testing and validation.
  • Relocation to Greenville, SC is required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 30-40% of the time.

  • Hands-on field experience for the purposes of installation, commissioning, validation or similar.
  • Experience with wind turbine certification.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the execution of field validation testing and data acquisition for use in the design, validation, and certification of all Megawatt Constrained (MWC) segment products.
  • Test campaigns owned by the team include GE owned engineering prototypes and customer units.
  • Responsible for design and construction of test facilities, instrumentation systems and the development of test software.
  • Develops advances in data collection, data science, data processing, and automation to increase the use of validation data throughout the entire design and validation cycle of MWC products.
  • Develops advances in instrumentation methods and science based on program needs, driving standardization where beneficial.
  • Develops strategies for how validation data is used to expedite learnings, resolution of field issues, and risk reduction.
  • Leads the implementation of best practices to improve processes related to the planning, execution, and analysis of validation tests.
  • Leads the deployment of resources to maximize the return on investment for field validation in accordance with program needs.
  • Manages strategic relationships with 3rd party vendors for the purposes of field validation and certification.
  • Manages a large global team that covers a wide variety of job functions within validation and systems engineering.
