About The Position

The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) is seeking a Noon Monitor to enable students, through playground leadership, to enjoy group interaction and physical exercise, which are an integral part of the district educational program. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Prior experience working with children/students under the supervision of classroom teachers, site managers or school principal.

Responsibilities

  • Transport students from one destination to the next safely on school grounds.
  • Supervise students at playtime and maintain a harmonious atmosphere on the playground.
  • Organize group games and activities.
  • Supervise lunch recesses in the cafeteria and in the school yard.
  • Assist students in wellness rooms.
  • Assist in restorative conversations and in response to students in crisis.
  • Walk around the yards as much as possible and take precautionary steps to help children resolve conflicts using intervention strategies, such as benching.
  • Send students to the office for medical attention or in serious discipline situations.
  • Perform other job duties as requested by site administration.
