About The Position

CFC Recycling Inc. is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual to join our team at our Gallatin, Tennessee location as a Nonferrous Quality Control & Sorting Technician. This position is responsible for inspecting, identifying, sorting, and verifying the quality of nonferrous metals to ensure materials meet company standards and customer specifications. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, hardworking, and able to work in a fast-paced recycling environment while maintaining accuracy, productivity, and high-quality standards.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in scrap metal recycling, material sorting, quality control, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and sort nonferrous metals, including aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, and other recyclable materials.
• Identify different metal types, grades, and material qualities to ensure proper classification.
• Perform quality control inspections to identify contamination, mixed metals, and unacceptable materials.
• Remove nonconforming materials and communicate quality concerns to supervisors and management.
• Ensure materials meet established company standards and customer specifications before processing, storing, or shipping.
• Monitor material loads and processed products for accuracy, cleanliness, and quality.
• Properly separate and organize materials to maximize recovery value and minimize contamination.
• Assist with receiving, unloading, processing, and preparing nonferrous materials as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety policies, operating procedures, and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and report unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries, and near misses promptly.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, equipment operators, scale personnel, and supervisors.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
