About The Position

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions, essential for new semiconductor chips and advanced displays. The equipment we create and service is crucial for advancing AI and accelerating the commercialization of next-generation semiconductor chips. This role supports Applied Materials’ spare parts business, ensuring semiconductor manufacturers receive the replacement parts they need to keep their equipment running. The team partners closely with internal customers, sales, supply chain, and IT teams to design and improve processes for ordering, planning, and delivering spare parts. The team consists of 5 people across the US, Singapore, and Italy. The new graduate will join a collaborative, fast-paced group in Austin, gaining real ownership, mentorship, and direct exposure to internal customers and business leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • GPA requirements 3.0 or above preferred.
  • Strong learning mindset: ability to learn quickly, apply feedback, and demonstrate curiosity.
  • Willing to effectively collaborate in a team environment and learn from SMEs.
  • Accountability: willing to take ownership of assigned jobs and take initiative.
  • Keep professional & respectful communication with people.
  • Basic knowledge with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Basic Analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with data to support decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge with process mapping & documentation (e.g., flowcharts, Visio, Lean or Six Sigma concepts) is a plus.
  • Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP) or data tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog for tools and processes that support the spare parts business, balancing customer value, business impact, and effort.
  • Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria, and work with development teams in an Agile/Scrum environment (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives).
  • Meet with business users, customers, and cross-functional partners to understand their needs and translate them into product features and requirements.
  • Map current business processes, identify pain points and inefficiencies, and recommend and implement improvements.
  • Test and validate new features before release, and support user training, communication, and adoption.
  • Track progress and results, and share regular updates with stakeholders and leadership.
