About The Position
The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM), part of the University of Arkansas System, is seeking to fill a temporary (Fixed Term) position for Non-Student Extra Help in Diesel / AHEOTA. This role involves operating state commercial diesel trucks and teaching related undergraduate/technical courses. The employee will also be responsible for training and evaluating student drivers to ensure they possess the necessary skills for commercial driver licensing. This position requires evening and/or summer hours.
Requirements
- CDL certification required.
- Five years of CDL experience.
- Experience teaching students to drive.
- The ability to interact efficiently with colleagues and students of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Nice To Haves
- Additional CDL endorsements preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operating state commercial diesel trucks.
- Teaching related undergraduate / technical courses.
- Training and/or evaluating student drivers to ensure they possess the skills to become a licensed commercial driver.
- Training and evaluating student drivers on the range daily to determine when they are ready to progress from the range to on the road training/driving.
- Assisting student drivers with conducting Pre- and Post Trip inspections.
- Facilitating instructional and lab activities.
- Maintaining program and student records.
- Coordinating and supervising.
- Assisting with maintaining program approval.
- Other duties as assigned.
